October 21 2011 - Press Release
LITTLETON – At long last, Littleton has a new independent pharmacy! Do you remember the days when drug stores sold drugs, and the five-and dimes sold diapers, dishware and cigarettes? At Ammonoosuc Community Health Services, Inc. (ACHS), we remember! Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Facilities Improvement Program (FIP) grant in 2009, the vision of integrated pharmacy is now a reality.
You may wonder why ACHS opened an independent pharmacy when there are several pharmacy choices in the local area already. The answer is simple: to offer our patients the very best level of care possible!
Through our integrated pharmacy,
- The pharmacist and health care provider share the same medical record system to make prescription management easy.
- The pharmacists take the time to understand customers and their medication needs.
- Medication management is offered as a service.
- We will match all area $4 drug formularies.
- Uninsured patients on our sliding-fee scale may be eligible for other low-cost drug programs!
All this results in better care, improved health outcomes, and a better quality of life for our patients are not the only advantages to using our ACHS pharmacy, because:
- When you buy at ACHS, your money stays in the community and supports the organization’s mission of providing health care for all regardless of ability to pay.
- The pharmacy offers convenience to our patients – prescriptions can be picked up after a provider visit!
- Anyone can have their prescriptions filled at the ACHS Pharmacy, you do not need to be a patient of ACHS.
